Responsibilities

The Growth Leader will be responsible for driving business development and strategies to support company growth within the intelligence community and DoD. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, leading a team of capture managers, and spearheading proposal efforts to secure new contracts.

  • Develop and implement growth strategies to expand the company's contracts within the DoD and intelligence community.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including federal contracts and subcontracts.
  • Lead and mentor a team of capture managers and support staff to ensure effective pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Oversee proposal development efforts, including writing and reviewing proposals, to ensure high-quality submissions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and industry partners.
  • Provide leadership in financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Align business development activities with the company's long-term strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with internal teams within the company
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings. 

 
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) 

  • New Contract Value: Total value of new contracts secured within a given period.
  • Proposal Win Rate: Percentage of proposals submitted that result in contract awards.
  • Lead Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads that convert into actual sales or contracts.
  • Capture Manager Performance: Success rate of capture managers in securing new contracts.
  • Alignment with Strategic Plan: Degree to which business development activities align with the company's long-term strategic master plan.
  • Financial Analysis Accuracy: Accuracy and reliability of financial forecasts and analyses. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:   

  • Active TS/SCI or eligible
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in business development or sales, with a significant portion of that experience within the federal contracting space.
  • Proven track record of securing large contracts, particularly within the intelligence community and DoD.
  • Deep understanding of the federal procurement process, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement).
  • Proficiency in using SalesForce CRM software and other business development tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements. 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar).
  • 15 years of experience in business development or sales, with a significant portion of that experience within the federal contracting space.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting.
  • Experience in leading and managing business development teams, including capture managers.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials and industry partners.
  • Familiarity with Other Transaction Authority (OTA) procurements
